Fluency Superheroes

(1)
This set is a great way to work on students' fluency by using Superheroes to remind them of what good readers do! Kids love superheroes and visual cues to remind them of the strategies good readers implement. This set provides superhero visual reminders to help students remember what fluent readers do while reading. Fluency is the ability to read words with speed, accuracy, and prosody (expression). Students need to be able to group words into meaningful phrases and pay attention to punctuation while reading. Reading should sound similar to how we talk with appropriate changes in volume, pace, and intonation. Most importantly students must think about what they’re reading to make sure it makes sense. This set has superheroes and bad guys to represent each of these strategies of fluent reading. Included in this set: - Instructions for use - Posters of the Fluency Superheroes and Bad Guys - Student bookmarks - Hasbrouck & Tindal fluency norms chart - 2 fluency graphs - Fluency battle cards - First 300 Fry instant phrases - Chart to document student progress on Fry phrases
